Please welcome The Dilrods to Blackhouse Records Limited.
Punk rock is a pit.
The 90’s turned the genre into a common household commodity, like a lawnmower or a microwave. Slick, glossy magazines in their infinite “customer-facing” wisdom turned (and still continue to turn) bands into a brand. But underneath that surface is the pit. For every one of those bands, there is a whole ecosystem of even better bands. They lurk in every city of the country. Spokane, Washington is no exception, and is actually a pretty underappreciated and often overlooked hotbed of amazing bands. That said, punk rock residents The Dilrods are in good company.
Formed during the dystopian days of COVID lockdowns, The Dilrods dialed it in, hashing out sonic ideas at decibel readings high enough to make a person’s brain bleed. With members hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Orange County California, and the Chicagoland area, The Dilrods features ex-members of Blackhouse alumni Wasted Breath, as well as members from Thee Indigents (Hostage Records) and The Rummies. The sum of its punk rock parts, their delivery is abrasive, fast, short, and intentional on every level. No bullshit, no ego, just getting the point across and in a solid, impression-lasting way.
With their first album “Spare the Rod” released in 2020 on UK Label No Front Teeth, the band will see a record via Blackhouse later this year. More details in the works, including pre-orders and official release info, upcoming show/tour dates, and more.
